Funky Fairy Challenge #21 - Winners announcement

WOW, a week has just flown past and what glorious weather we are finally having . . . here's hoping it lasts . . . unless you are at Glastonbury Festival this weekend (like she who will remain nameless ! ! !) where the obligatory mud baths are part of the festivals tradition!

The challenge last week was to make a Christmas card and as I leave mine until November (ish) to get going, it was the nudge I needed from the Challenge girlies to get a few quick cards made ! The randomlu chosen winner of a Funky Fairy download for this challenge is . . .

Here is the fab funky Tilda card she made using the FREE Blue Christmas download. Love the flash of red from Tilda's coat against the blue - very striking.

This weeks challenge is a sketch . . . .

and also a "Guest Designer" call for 2 weeks for challenges #24 & #25. If you would like to be considered for a "Guest Designer" position, pop over to the Challenge Blog for all the details.

Happy crafting everyone,

Lou

Challenge #20

EIYIYI (Dropped Stitches)

The challenge for last week was to make a "Thank You" card and here is EIYIYI fab card made using a gorgeous Funky Fairy image.

Many thanks to all of you ladies for joining in with the Funky Fairy Challenges & we hope you enjoyed your prizes . . . we can't wait to see what you make using your Funky Fairy Download prizes (hint, hint!).

This weeks challenge over on the Challenge Blog is to make a "Christmas" themed project and the challenge DT have been very busy, so please pop over and show them your support. All we ask is that you use at least one Funky Fairy product on your project. Each week, a randomly selected winner is chosen to receive a Funky Fairy download. Remember if you do not have any Funky Fairy papers as yet (and why not?), Shaz has previously posted loads of FREE DOWNLOADS and there are even so scrummy CHRISTMAS FREEBIES - they can be found here . . .

Now with all that yummy funky-i-ness there is really no excuse to join in with the Challenge this week. However, the boring bit . . . Shaz gives these kits freely and it would be wonderful if when you download and use the free stuff, that you please link back to this blog from your blog. Please feel free to leave comments on the papers and all the inspirational designs by both the Shop DT & Challenge Blog DT. If you create something using any of the free stuff from here, we would love to see your project and if you would like your creation displayed on our blog, please email a pic to funky@funkyfairyspapercrafts.com or leave a comment on this post.

Happy Crafting everyone and don't forget that there is a Funky Fairy Competition running at the moment using the NEW "CUPCAKE" kit.

A Bit of Inspiration...Other than cards

I'm now back with a bit of inspiration for you...Inspiration for things to create other than cards.

A gorgeous little 'trinket box' created by Emma using 'Funky flowers' kit
A cute photo frame created by Emma, again using the 'Funky Flowers' kit

An elegant simple photo frame created by Diana using the 'In with the old' kit

A great idea by Diana here, who created a photo cube, again using 'In with the old' kit

A gorgeous yumalicious cupcake holder created by Joanne using 'Feeling fruity shabby style' kit
*I could so eat those delicious looking goodies right now*

How aout this fab creation by Emma for fathers day....not a stocking....its a 'Dad sock' :)
Great idea there for fathers day.Created using the 'Hope' kit

How about this fabby watering can...how great is this! Emma created this form using papers & sentiment from the 'Funky's Garden' kit

I just love this cute little bird house that Emma has made using papers & elements from the 'Just a bit range' isn't it adorable!

And last but definately not least...this fabulous creation by our Lou.
Isn't this t.shirt just FAB??
...This is what i love about printing out your papers ect. It gives you far more possabilities than what you can get from a shop bought paper.
As they say...you are only limited to your imagination.
You can print onto paper, card,(even certain types of 'special' card) vellum, acetate(you need the printable acetate) safmat (which you then use like a rubon, transfer paper for doing t.shirts ect, printable fabric ...ribbon...tissue paper *for doing your candles* ( you need to secure your tissue paper to a pice of A4 paper to get it to go through your printer though)
Don't just limit yourself to just paper and card only...experiment...see what works for you.
You could create beautiful matching gifts...eg for a new baby... card and box with a matching box for your gift...your gift could be a bib/t.shirt ect that has been emellished by you using printable fabric, t.shirt transfer paper...in a design/image that co-ordinates with the other items. How totally unique would that be.
Think 'outside the box' and discover a whole new world of possabilities.
MY FAVOURITE TIP TO SAVE MONEY
For anyone that uses printable papers, who likes to print out photos....then this is for you.
I cannot stress enough how FAB it is to have a CISS *Continuous Ink supply system*
What is a CISS ? The CISS basically replaces your normal ink cartridges in your printer.
The ink cartridges that are connected to the CISS go into your printer where your normal cartridges would go...attatched to the cartridges are cables/tubes that lead to a set of ink tanks.
My printer uses just 4 different colours so i have 4 tanks, one for each colour. Each tank holds 100ml of ink. The CISS cartridges just continually take ink from the tanks...you never have to replace the cartidges. When your ink tanks start to run low, you buy refil bottles of inks ,and just top up the tanks. For the full set of 4 refil bottles of ink (each bottle is 100ml) it cost me about £10 altogether with p&p. The full tanks of the CISS holds as much ink as what is equivalant to 20+ FULL sets of ink cartidges!!!..so you can print and print and print some more.Papaer, photos evrything. I've had mine for almost a year now,and im only just onto my second set of refil bottles!! ...and i print...A LOT! lol
You can get a CISS for about £25...and that includes a FULL set of tanks. You MUST buy a CISS that is for your particular printer. If for any reason you cant buy a CISS for your printer, then i would reccomend buying yourself a cheap little printer, that you can get a CISS for.
I just use a regular little epson D92...its not the fastest printer in the world, but im all for quality, rather than speed. I got my CISS and i get my refil ink from ebay. If you decide to get one, once you have it, you will wish you'd bought one a long time ago :)
So thats my money saving tip for you :)
Keep a eye out for details of a COMPETITION that i shall be posting shortly. The comp will be featured around the new 'Cupcake crazy' kit! ...and the prize???...Lets just say that it's something (or should i say a lot of something) that money can no longer buy :)
Happy crafting everyone :)

NEW things...............are coming :)

Hi Everyone :)
*edited to add that the kits below have now been added to the download shop*
Sorry there has been no updates to here for over a week :(
My laptop 'isn't feeling too well'...so right now iam between 2 computers...one has internet, one doesnt :( I have lots of 'fabby' inspiration to show from the girls too :) However the pics of those are on the laptop...am hoping to try and get them off later today, and show them tomorrow :)
Today i thought i would show you what should be 'hitting the shelves' in the download shop later today :)*Provided my internet connection hold out and they continue to upload*
...The past few months i've kind of gone'cupcake crazy' lol I'm loving everything cupcakey :)
Im also wanting my craft room all 'cupcakey and shabby chic' :)
The past few months i've been working on quite a large kit, in between working on other things :)
And now ...at last , i can say that it's finally finished :) I decided to call it 'CUPCAKE CRAZY' :)
*I wonder why* ;)
There are over 500 printable files altogether in this kit!
As the download shop only supports sigle download links, i have split it into 3 parts. So to buy the kit you need to add all 3 parts into your basket..all 3 parts will total £8.99!!!
That way you will recieve 3 seperate links, one for each part...rather than 1 large file to download :)
So whats in 'Cupcake Crazy'
For starters there are lots n lots of A4 papers...most of the papers come in both a 'solid' style and a 'shabby' style (so ya get the best of both worlds)
Theres a full word album with numers...haven't done one for quite a while :)
Theres tons of sentiments...including round sentiments too :)
An uppercase individual alphabet
Theres of course cupcake images...some black & white...some ready coloured.
Theres party invites
Theres blank pages for noteooks ect
Pages for recipe cards ect
Theres 5x 5 square inserts for cards..(you can obviously resize)
Theres boxes...boxes with cutouts
Popcorn boxes
pillow boxes
The cutest 'lolly tops'
I think that just about covers whats in it.:)
I wanted people to be ale to create co-ordinating items that didnt cost the earth to make, and that were quick & easy, and i think that this kit cover all that.
The whole kit is just bright...colourful....and 'Cupcakey'...I love it...and i hope you all love it too :)

Then there are 4 new paper packs to add into the 'Colours in Volume' collection
I just love this spotty paper...it really is gorgeous...this is 1 of the papers that i used on the 3d photo frame thing that i showed on here a few weeks ago.

This is a fab paper that resembles brush strokes.

This one is 'gorgeous' Very 'shabby' but very 'softly' done
This is the other paper that i used on the 3d photo frame thing.
This paper is black & white swirls on a 'Solid' colour background..(Not shabby style)
It looks Fab!

Before i go i just want to say a HUGE thankyou to everyone that sent me birthday wishes ect,
Thankyou so much it is greatly appreciated :)
Hopefully all these kits will be in the shop later today.
I will be back tomorrow whith some inspiration for you :)
Happy crafting everyone
